You can add a new item to a data list if you have editor permissions or higher in the application you are working in.

To add a new item, just click the "+ New item" button from the top right of your data list.

The new item adding page will show up. By default, the new item page will show as a pop-up window with the default page layout.

You can input values to related fields, and click "OK" button to add this new item to the data list.

You can change the form layout by adding a custom list form, and set it as the new item form.

You can also change size of the pop-up window from small, medium, large or full screen. Or, you can change the way to open new item form as a new full page.
