The Department filed control is a hierarchy control that allows to response one or multiple department(s)' name which is managed in Yeeflow Department.

Similar with a user control, the user will only be able to choose department(s) that you have already managed in Yeeflow. Using a Department control to display, assign a task, even control the access to some section of this form or a data list of this application.


How to add an Department field

Firstly, find the Department control in the controls add panel. Then, drag and drop it into a section or container on your form.


Basic of the Department field

Open the Content > Basic block and set the Title's text of this Department control. For more information about Title for field control, please refer:

Set the Associated variable for this Department control. When you add a new Department control, a default variable will be generated automatically. You can click the Edit Button to change the ID and name, or click the Reset button to bind this Department control to other existing variables. For more information, please refer:

Parent Node: Parent Node is optional to be set the node of the hierarchy for your Department field controls.

Using a custom set of parent node to restrict a subordinate list of an department that will appear in this Department field. There are two options to associate its parent node.

Static: A static parent node will provide all sub-departments in your Yeeflow. You can choose any of them. The user will be able to select its subordinate Departments then.

Variable: A variable parent node will allow you to bind another Department control/field (from Expression Editor) on this form. That another department field is always a multiple one, so that the user will be able to choose some from these multiple departments.

For example, if you just want users to select the subsidiaries under "APAC", then you can choose Static and select "APAC" from the Department picker control.


Appearance of the Department field

Open the Content > Appearance block to set the appearance and layout of this Department control.

Placeholder: Set the text as the placeholder of this Department field.

Multiple: You can enable/disable multiple choices for a Department field. If multiple enabled, the users are able to choose one or multiple Department(s) according to your custom set of parent node and hierarchy.

Hierarchy: You can enable/disable hierarchy for this field. By default, it's disabled for Department fields.

  • A enabled hierarchy is a way to offer this field with all departments and their subordinates in your Yeeflow or your custom parent node.

  • A disabled hierarchy will offer the sub-departments under your Yeeflow or subordinates under its parent node.

Display Title: Choose display or hide the title of this control. For more information, please refer: Understand the title of field controls

Allow comment: Turn on this option will allow users to add comments on this control.

Validation of the Department field

Open the Content > Validation block to set the properties of this Department field control.

Readonly: Turn this ON will make this field control as view only status.

Required: Make this field as required. Users cannot leave the content as empty.

Default value: Set a default value of this Department field.

  1. Customize: Select specific items from the Department picker control below.

  2. Current user's Department: Load the current login user's Department as the default value.

Custom Validation: Set the custom validation rules. An error message that will display under your field when specified conditions become true. It will allow you to add any number of rules for validating your field. Learn more about the Custom Validation

Action call of the Department field

Open the Content > Action block to call a pre-defined action from the dropdown list. This action will be triggered once the value of this image field is changed.


Style the Department field control

Field - Editable

Open the Style > Field - Editable block to set the styles of the field control for it's editable status.

  1. Typography: Set the typography options for the text in the Department picker control.

  2. Normal / Focus: Set different styles for normal state and focus state of the Department picker. Styles below are supported to be set separately for Normal and Focus state.

    • Color: Choose the color of the field's text.

    • Background Color: Set background color of the field. By default, the background color is set as transparent.

    • Border Type: Select the type of border, choosing from none, solid, double, dotted, dashed, or grooved.

    • Radius: Set the border radius to control corner roundness.

    • Shadow: Adjust box shadow options

  3. Operation Button: Set the styles of the operation button after the text box.

    • Color: Select the color of the button’s text

    • Background Color: Select the button’s background color.

  4. Placeholder Color: Choose the color of the placeholder text.

  5. Align: Set the alignment of text inside the field control. Can be Left, Center or Right.

  6. Padding: Set the Padding of the field control.

  7. Field Width: Set the width of the field control in PX , %, em, rem, vw, calc.

  8. Field Alignment: Set the alignment of the field control. This will only be effected when the field width is less than the outside container.

    • Margin: Set the Margin of the selected departments in PX , %, em, rem, vw, calc.

    • Padding: Set the Padding of the selected departments in PX , %, em, rem, vw, calc.

    • Typography: Set the typography options for the text of selected departments.

    • Color: Select the color of the selected departments.

    • Background Color: Select the background color of the selected departments block.

    • Border Type: Select the type of border, choosing from none, solid, double, dotted, dashed, or grooved.

    • Radius: Set the border radius to control corner roundness.

    • Shadow: Adjust box shadow options

  9. Selected items: Set the styles of the selected departments.

  10. Error Message: Set the styles of the error message,

    • Typography: Set the typography options for the error message.

    • Color: Choose the color of the error message's text.

Field - Read Only

Open the Style > Field - Read Only block to set the styles of the field control for it's view only status.

  1. Selected items: Set the styles of the selected departmentson it's read only state.

    • Margin: Set the Margin of the selected departments in PX , %, em, rem, vw, calc.

    • Padding: Set the Padding of the selected departments in PX , %, em, rem, vw, calc.

    • Typography: Set the typography options for the text of selected departments.

    • Color: Select the color of the selected departments.

    • Background Color: Select the background color of the selected departments block.

    • Border Type: Select the type of border, choosing from none, solid, double, dotted, dashed, or grooved.

    • Radius: Set the border radius to control corner roundness.

    • Shadow: Adjust box shadow options

Set the Title of field controls that are applicable to this control.


Advanced Settings

Set the Advanced options that are applicable to this control.
