Allows users to open and view the details of a specific item without editing it.

The View Item step allows users to open and view a specific item from the collection in a read-only format. It is especially useful for scenarios where users need to review details of a collection item without making modifications. This action can be bound to a button or container in the collection, providing users with an easy way to trigger the view action when interacting with the collection.


Configure the View item action:

  1. Execution Condition:

    • Set conditions under which the action should be executed. For example, the action may trigger only if a particular status or field value is met.

    • You can enable the checkbox Continue next step when the condition is not met if you want the workflow to proceed even if the condition isn’t met.

  2. Query Parameters:

    • Configure parameters that pass additional data to the item view using the Settings button. This can include values such as item IDs or other form data that are relevant to the item being viewed.

  3. Link:

    • Select the default layout in which the item details will be displayed.

  4. Open in:

    • This option controls how the item is presented to the user (e.g., Pop-up window, Slide in, Full page, or New window).

  5. Size:

    • Define the size of the item view to control how much space it occupies on the screen. Use Default, Small, Medium, large, or Full screen based on the complexity of the data being shown.
